A meeting of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Dawson's Hotel this evening at 8 o'clock, to discuss matters pertaining to the visit of the Hon Mr Millar, Minister of Railways.
A great deal of interest is being taken in the West Coast Coursing Club's meeting to take place on the 3rd June. The Club have already wired away for another lot of hares. A meeting of young nun yesterday decided to form a large party and make a systematic drive for local hares.
Steps are being taken to put the famous fountain, that has been so long in the possession oi the Inangahua County Council into position. The iron basin which contains the water, stands on three horses' legs and when painted and properly set up, will be a handsome ornament to the town,
Complaints have peen made to us concerning the condition of the Waitahu road and railway bridge combined. It is said that there is far too much mud on the structure, and that for pedestrians to travel the bridge is a very dirty task.
