REEFTON v BOATMANS.

The above match took place on the Racecourse on Saturday, '1 here was a poor attendance. Eoatmans were without the services of Rhodes (centre three-quarter), play-ng a man short until close on hall time in case he turned up. From the start it was evident that the Reefton backs were too good for Boatmans, Griffen, the new three-quarter giving promise of becoming " one of the best." The two packs wer", however, very evenly matched. The game was not very interesting, though in the second spell there was some very willing forward play, Doraw (Boatman's) and W. Cooper (Reefton)playing great games. Griffen scored a try for Reefton in the first spell, which was converted by Montgomerie, McGillicuddy securing another in the second spell, Berndtson converting, making the score :-
