THE WESLEYAN GIFT AUCTION.

The hall was crowded on Saturday night when the Wesley an Gift Auction was concluded. The success of the previous night was enhanced and all the evening the proceedings were remarkably enjoyable. A feature of the evening was the guessing the weight of a sucking pig presented by Mr J. Dick. Messrs Lawry and Thompson were in charge of this department and they made it a profitable one, causing much laughter by their salesmanship. The bride and bridegroom were won by Mrs George Absolam, and the "Heavenly Twins" by Miss Ruby Ferens. The sale of produce etc, which were left over was then conducted bv Mr Lee, who was assisted by Messrs J. D. Christie, J. White, and B.Thompson. The management have to be congratulated on the success of their sale, over L 65 being taken.
