WELCOME TO THE HON. J. A. MILLAR.
There was only a small attendance at the County Council Chambers last night at the meeting convened to welcome the Hon J. A. Millar on his approaching visit to Reef ton. The County Chairman, Mr E. J. Scantlebury was in the chair.and there .vere present—Messr? R. Wills, A.M. Carroll, R. Williams, W. Dunn, J; Patterson, I. Patterson, C. R. Thornton, C. Mirfin, R. Lochore, H. P. ;Lawi - y. The chairman having briefly opened the discussion after some preliminary suggestion had been put forward, Mr Dunn moved, and Mr R. Wills seconded, that the form of welcome to the Minister take'the form of a social conversaxione.. Messrs Lawry, Williams, Thornton and Dunn were appointed to act as a committee to arrange the music, advertising etc. The Chairman was authorised to wire at once to the Minister, asking for definite news of his movements. It was decided to hold the affair in the Princess Theatre somewhere about the 16th. The Herald proprietory offered to do the printing free of charge. This was all the business.
