THE WRECK OF THE SURPRISE
Per Press Association. Auckland, July 27 A Tairu message states th£ steamer, Onslow, visited the scene of the wreck of the Surprise again. Constable Brown and party serched the benches, but could find no bodies. They secured a flag and some broken life buoys with thq, name of the boat. The steamer called at Ohui and brought Harry Jackson, the sole survivor, to Tairua. He is still weak. As showing the fury of the storm, dozens of crayfish and dead fish have been thrown up on the beach, also tons of seaweed. The ship's dog wa? found lying) on the Pawanui beach.
