(By Telegraph— Per Press Association) Invercargill, Juny 10. Mr Poynfcon committed Minnie Dean for trial for the murder of Dorothy Edith Carter, and discharge! Charles Dean, there being no evidence afc a'l against the husbiod, and he left the Court without a stain on his charaotar. The polios, however, were justified in arresting him as they did not kuow what evidence mi-jht turn were entitled to credit for the way they worked up the ca?e. Dean shook hands with the solicitor and left. His wife, will be tried at the Supreme Court on Tuesday. INQUEST ON ANOTHER OP MINNIE DEAN'S VICTIMS. - Invercargill, This Day. At the inquest on the skeleton foand in Dean's garden at Winton, evidence was given of several children broughi by Mrs Dean mysteriously disappear* ing. Const. Rasraussen expressed the opiniou that the skeleton was that of Willie Phelau. The jury returned a verdict that the identity of Oie skeleton was not fully established, but tho evidence points strongly to the remains being those of Phelan.
