We learn from the Grey Star of Saturday that up to that time the body had not been recovered. Sincere sympathy is felt for deceased's parents, they having previously lost two sons, one by downing and another by a tree falling on him. Mr E. Reeves has received the following reply to a telegram sent by him to the Premier in reference to the application of the Midland Eailway Company for an extension of time, concerning which a deputation waited on Mr Reeves last Tuesday :— Your telegram re Midland Eailway Company received : matter under consideration of Ministers, and the interest of the district yon mention will no* °0 overlooked." In regard to sending Mr Sorenson the dairy expert to the Inangahua Valley, Mr Beeves received the following reply fyom the Hon. The following congratulatory telegram was sent by Mr H. F. Budge and a large nnmber of other citizens to Sir George Grey on the occasion of his 80th birthday on Thursday:— To Sir George Grey, Australasia's greatest champion of liberty and political reformer: We the undersigned wish you many birthday returns. May you live to see tho political programme, for which you have so gallantly fought, accomplished. Feeling assured you will never die in the memory of a grateful people for whom you have devoted your best energies, we are yours devotedly, (here follow the signatures). To this Sir George replied as follows : To H. F.
