UNITED ALPINE Friday, 17. During the week the contractors in No. 7 level, United Alpine, have driven eight feet, making the total length driven by them to date, 48 feet; The country has been hard, but there is a obauge for the better appearing in the face of tbe drive ; softer ground, carrying a little water, is coming in. The contractors of No- 7 uprise have risen 10 feet, making the total height 57 feet ; the stone is not quite as large as last week, but is still the full width of uprise. There has been no sloping done above No. 7 level, Nos. 1 and 2 slopes being worked out. There is nothing new to report from the atopes above the upper intermediate level ; the reef continues as before. A start was made to fill in last night.
