John Sweeney : I atu a laborer and contractor ; I object to the application of Waylan ; two or three years ago I started to clear, these sections ; it was all bush and stones ; I made the surface on it ; I took up ten sections ; I made nearly the whole of the surface and fenced it in ; I occupied the ground, but was not in a position to take out the business licenses; I spoke to Mr Hnslop about the license fees several times ; I have taken out nine licenses since the proceedings.
