Consolation Handicap of 20 soys. — Distance, 1 mile. For all beaten horses. Post entry, 1 soy. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Night of general entry: Thursday, 15th December, 1887. Qualification for District Races to be as follows: That all horses entered for the District Race or Races shall be the bona fide property af a resident in one of the counties of Buller, [nangahua, Grey and Westland for three months, and that such horse itself shall have beexlTO one of the said counties at least three months immediately prior to the race or races for which is is entered. - No entry will be received for any of the noes except on this condition: — That all dnputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the stewards, rfioae decisions upon all points connected with the carrying out of this ' programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the secretary. Entrance money and qualification enclosed, with the name, age pedigree of the horse, name of the owner and colors of the rider. No nomination will be received without the entrance money. This regulation will be rigidly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter a horse for any race unless he be a subscriber to the race fund of not less than 1 soy. Hack races excepted. In the event of any person entering a protest the sum of £2 must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered, this sum to be forfeited to the funds should the stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Three horses must accept for each event of the public money will not be given. All entries for Hack Races to be subject to the approval of the Stewards. Stakes paid less 5. per cent.
