Inventors are expected to bo conversant with the machines and methods at present in ute, and not to oiler simple reproductions of the same. They are also expected not to offer reproductions of machines of methods which have fallen into disuse. In the event of two or more plans being considered worthy of trial, the Government will determine in what manner the competition shall be carried on, and the best plan disr covered. As fche bonus is only injbended to simulate inventive genius, every invouter may reap a further benefit fauin his invention if he thiuk fit, by taking out a patent.
