TnE Provincial Council of Otago being dnfliroiis of stimulating invention, end securing 'he uso ot gold saving apparatus in connection with hydraulic mining adapted to the purpose of extracting gold from auriferous curth more completely than uny of the insichines or methods at present iv use, hus voted the sum of £250, to be offered as a bonus for tho invention of such an apparatus, subject to such competition and regulations as his Honor the Superintendent may seem lit. Notice it hereby gi^en ir. accordance with the vote of the Council, 'that plans aud proposals for such an apparatus will be received for consideration, up till the first day of August next ensuing. The following particulars are publishod for the information of intended exhibitors of plans.
