WEALTH OF NATIONS.
Wednesday, November 7. Shareholders residing at a distance, and being aware that the company's motive power for their machinery is derived by means of seven miles of a water race have doubtless, from the almost alarming condition of tbe weather during the last fortnight, been in full expectation of receiving intelligence that their outside works had boen seriously damaged. But so far it is satisfactory to be able to state that during the whole of this tempastuous weather, the sundry breakages that occurred have only caused a delay of crushing operations for about twenty-four hours, and part of that time sufficient water was available for working ten stampers. Upou matters of the interior workings there is nothing of special importance to record, the reefs in the stopes continue a very tolerable thickness, aud the returns from tho plates last week show a considerable improvement on the yield for some time past.
