Notico w hereby given in accordance with the vote of tlio Council, that plans and proposab for such an apparatus will bo received for consideration, up till tbo first day of August next ensuing. The following particulars are published for tho information of intended ejuiibitorp of plans. The plans nnd proposals will b« submitted to a body of, judges, composed of experienced miners, and. such other porsons as his Honor tho Superintendent may appoint, and in considering them the following points will be kept in yietv : — 1. The cost of the apparatus as it appears on the plan, and itsprobabloeost^nd' tear and wear. 2. Tho readiness with which it enn bo secured in any part of a tail race, and bo removed from one part to another and again scoured. 3. Its adaptability to the different widths md fulls of tail races used in dillbrcnt districts ; to tho varying quantities of water used cither by choice or nocccsity for Hushing tho same; and to tho dill'creiit kinds of vvashdirt from which gold is ottaitted in tho Province. Inventors are- uxpected. to be conversant with tiie machines and rr.dthods at present in use, and not to oiler simplo reproductions oi the siime. They are also expected not io offer repro« ductions of machines or methods which havo fallen into disuse. They can obtain practical inlbnv.ation on these and other pointc, by application through tho post to the Central Association at Naseby. It, 111 tho opinion of the judges appointed any plan shall appear to be worthy ot adoption by the miners in the Province, tbo Government 'undertakes to lurnish copies ot the same to each of tho Mining Associations in the Province with full instructions as to inventions of the inventors, nnd tho payment of tho bonus will then be determined in the following manner, payment being due wittiiu eight months from the date ac which tho copies of the plans and instructions have been issued to the various Mining Associations. liy the fact of the appurutun being used by at least twenty-live sluiuing companies in the Province, employing an average of at least Jivo men each, i.»r the period of six niontho, am l the intention of the same companies to continue die use thcrcot ; such fact uncl sucli intention being verified by the alliruiation before a Warden, of tho iMauagers or repi oscutatives ot such companies.
