WEALTH OF NATIONS.

Wednesday, July 18. The works at this mine continue to proceed from week to week with the usual regularity, and the yield of amalgam kesps up to a good steadj ayerage. The supply of stone is kept up in a very \ satisfactory manner, and the various sfcopes on the present level still maintain a very favorable appearance. In one part of the small east reef the lode is over ten feet thick, and from end to end will average fully six feet. Upon this reef there is fully 180 feet of backs, and upon which there is sufficient stone to take out to last till the end of the present year. It may therefore be calculated that there is at the least twelve months' supply of stone in the present level. The contractors in the Enterprise tunnel are making good progress, and the face bears a most improved appearance. The drive is now being carried through excellent looking country for quartz to live in, and blocks of stone are constantly met, but as yet it cannot be set down as of a definite formation. There is fully 300 feet of maiden trround to pass through before reaching the perpendicular line of the present works above, and from the very favorable indication shown at the present time it is not at all unlikely that somethi'jg of importance will be shortly struck in this tunnel.
