In the Supreme Court toaday, in a perjury ease arising out of the Ocean Mail disaster., at tha Ohathams, Mr Travers, gave notioe of his intention to demur to the indictment, on the ground of informality of the proceedings at tie Chatham Islands. Joseph Burgess for stealing a watch was Benten.eed to twelve months. The Q-rand Jury found no bill in the case- of Hillsden y. Powell, for criminal libel, George Beetham was elected at Featheraton, to-day, unopposed, as M,H.R., vice Andrews, resigned.
