Wood stated that Dr Colms Bbowne was undoubtedly the iuventor of "CHLORODYNE ; " that the story of the defendant Jfreomun being fho inventor was deliberately untrue, which he regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J.. Coins JBbownb was the discoverer of Chlorodyne} that they pre« scribed it largely, and mean no other than Dr BEOwjfß'B.— Sco Times, of July 12, 1864. Tho Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than Db J. Coilis Bbowne's Chlohodxne. BEMEDIAL USES AND ACTION. This INVALUABLE REMEDY produces quiet refreshing sleep, relieves pain, calms tho syetom, restores the deranged functions, and stimulates healthy action of the secretions of tho body, without creating any of those unpleasant results attending the use of opium. Extract from tho Medical Times^ January 12, 1866 :— "Clorodyne is prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, it would not thus be singularly popular, did t not • supply a want and fill a place.' " Extract from tho General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy in Choleia:— "So stiongly convinced are we of the immense value of this remedy, that we cannot too forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all coses."
