WEALTH OF NATION.

The improvements at the marinehouse are steadily advancing to a point of completion, and tbe new addition will give a more improved appearance to the

machine department, which now measures 70ft in length by 50ft in breadth. A marked, imrovemenfc has also taken place in Ihe face of the, Enterprise tunnel since last week. The foot wall now assumes a good solid, form, and, the stone also increases in thickness, showing fair gold, and every foot driven warrants the belief tbat a good lode will eventually be met with. Shareholders residing at a disI tance and not having the opportunity of I visiting the scene of operations can scarcely realise the actual importance of the favorable indication of the existence of stone i,n this part of their ground, but wben it is understood, that from the face of the Enterprise tunnel to the workings above which may be termed the present main working \qjq\ there is 700ffc of ground in its natural form, and in which a pick has never yet been struck. With this area of unprospected country and golden stone shown to exist at both ends, it may be reasonably assumed that thousands of tons of auriferous stone exists within t^bis company's boundary ynes, and that years of prosperity awaits the fortunate shareholders in addition to the su cess they have already enjoyed. The stone on the surface level is now drawing to a close, the stopes having reached the surface, and considering that nearly five thousand tons of stone haye been taken from this part of the mine, the existence of which some five yoars ago waa noli, known and altogether unexpected, the working of this leyel has certainly proved eminently successful.
