Taira and Bribery wese scratched. The race was a very un« satisfactory affair, as it is supposed to be controlled by the bookmakers. Little Dan, 1 ; Tryeagle, 2. Time, 3min 28 sees. Dunedin Cup of 500 soys, 2 mites and a distance. Punga, Elfin King, Cloth of Gold, Stormbird, Bob Roy, and Spray were scratched. Splendid race. Fish' hook, 1 ; Hippocampus, 2 ; Fallacy, B. Time, 4tnin S sees. In the Cup Bace Delamain declared to win with Templeton, and Redwood with Auriri. King Phillip carried 2|lbs over weight, Maroroa l£lbs, and Stormbird 2flbs. Betting, 4 to 1 agst Templeton, 4 to 1 Puriri, 5 to 1 Fishhook, 7 to 1 King Phillip, 10 to 1 Right Bower, Hipperhampus, and Dead Heat, 12 to 1 Guy Pawkes, Danebury, and Fallacy, 100 to 7 Dead Heat, 10ft to 5 any other. At the end of the first mile Right Bower west up to Hippocampus, and Danebury, which were leading, but he immediately after broke down. Fishhook then joined Hip* pocampus, and the pair soon outpaced everything else. Half a mile from home Fallacy gained third place, but was unable to get on even terms with Fishhook oi Walters' colt, and the race ended as telegraphed, in favor of Fishhook, by two lengths. Newmarket Stakes, of 60 soys. •> one mile and a distance.— Spray, I; Haphazard, 2. Stanley was scratched. Time, 2min. 12|sec Publicans' Handicap, of 100 sors ; one mile and a quarter. Guy Fawkes, 1 ; Rob Roy, 2; Cloth of Gold, 3. Fallacy, Puriri, Hippocampus, and Titania we^e scratched. Guy Fawkes won easily. Time, 2min. 2| see.
