i [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.] [PES PBBSS ASSOCIATION.] Apckunb, February 13. A resolution was passed afc the Harbor Board meeting to-day which had the effect of rescinding the former decision re deepening the dock. Notice of motion was given for tbe next meeting to deepen the dock, and sell three feet. At the Waste Lands Board to-day it was decided to accede to the request of Mr Broomhall for any surplus available land at Te Wbaro. The Report re the Vessey Stewart Kati "Kali Settlement showed that seventeen of the forty-two families had failed to fulfil the contract. Stewart requested 10,000 acres more at 13s, but the Board decided no* to sell under £1. Application was made from the Thames for 10,000 acres, for special settlement. The Board urges the Chief-Commissioner to bring the matter under the notice of the Govern meat. ALL-ENGLAND CRICKETERS. New Plymouth, February 13. The Englishmen won the toss and went to the field, Shaw and Lillywhite bowling, aud took the first three wickets withont runs. The innings closed for 33. Armitage and Ulyetfc then commenced tbe English innings. Armitage was bowled the last wicket falling for 80 runs. Ulyett, 18 ; Greenwood, 10; Emmet, 12; Shaw. 8 , Charlwoorl, 5 ; Southerton, 8 ; Hill, 7, (not out) In Taranaki'a second innings five were bowled for 3i runs and four byes. Bowling analysis : Taranaki twenty-two— Cleary, 2a runs, 1 wicket, 56 balls, 2> maidens : Davies, 6 runs, 3 wickets, 32 balls, 2 maidens ; Fitzpatrick. 41 runs, 6 wickets, 88 balls, 3* maidens. English Eleven— Shaw 11 runs, © wickets, 100 balls, 18 maidens; Lillywhite, 1& runs, 13 wickets, 98 balls, 13 maidens. Tbe match was resumed at noon, the weather being beautiful. The Taranaki twenty*two resumed their innings with Harrison, the "not oat " of yesterday. He was faced by Muggeridge, Southerton bowling instead of Ulyett, and his bowling was most effective, demolishing 9 wickets in an hour. The only Taranaki men who made a stand were Fitzpatrick and M'Kellar, who made 5 and 6 respectively. The total score afc 1,15' was 3& and with 15 wickets down. Tbe steamer Taupo is waiting to take the cricketers on to Nelson. The match was finished at 2 p.m., when the Taranaki twenty-two were all out in the second innings for 47. Total for both innings, 79. All-England eleven first innings, 80. Tbe latter thus winning with one innings and one run. Wellington, February 15. His Excellency and suit, with the Premier, leave in the Hinerooa, for Hokitika, on Monday evening next. They will be present at the Representative Firing, on one or two days, leaving on Thursday sight or Friday morning, for Greymouth. Will be afc Westport on Friday and on Saturday night will leave for Wellington. Government haye completed with the Bank of New Zealand arrange* ments for an advance of one million, which, with the half million recently borrowed in Australia, will, it is understood, enable the Government to avoid a resort to the London, market for two years. j
