Wood stated that Dr Cott^a BboWne was undoubtedly the inventor of " CHLORODYNE j" that the story of the defendant Freomau being tho inventor, was deliberately untrue, which he regretted had been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Collis Übow^b was the discoverer of Chlorodyne ; that they prescribe! it largely, and mean no other than Dr Bbowne's.— See Times, of July lg, 18.(34 The Public, therefore, are cautioned against using any other than De J. Dr, Lowb, Medical Missionary in India, reports (December, 1865) ; — *' That in nearly I every case of Cholera iv which Dr. J. Collis Bbowne's Chlorodyne was administered, the* I patieut reco-tewi." J Extract from the Medical Times, January 12, 1866 : — "Clorodyne is prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of course, it would not thus be singularly popular, did t not ' supply a want and fill a place.' " Extract from the General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy in Choleia:----So stiongly convinced are we of tho immense value of this remedy, that we cannot top forcibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Chlorodyne," from which frequent fatal results have followed.
