Wood stated that Dr Collis Bbownb was undoubtedly the inventor of "CHLORODYNE $" that the story of the defendant Freeman being the inventor was deliberately untrue, which he regretted bad been sworn to. Eminent Hospital Physicians of London stated that Dr J. Comjs Bbowh* was the discoverer of Chlorodyne ; that they prescribed it largely, and mean n» other than Dr Bbownb's.— See Times, of July 12, 1864. Dr. Lows, Medical Missionary in India, reports (December, 1865) :—•' That in nearly every case of Cholera in which Dr. J. Coma Beowne's Chloredyne wae administered, the patient recovered." Extract from the Medioal Times, January 12, 1866 :— "Clorodj ne is prescribed by scores of orthodox medical practitioners. Of cousaei it would not thus be singularly popular, did t not ' supply a wani. and fill a place.' " Extract from the General Board of Health, London, as to its efficacy m Choleiu: "So strongly convinced are we* of the immense value of this remedy, that -we cannot too for* cibly urge the necessity of adopting it in all cases." Beware of spurious and dangerous compounds sold as "Chlorodyne," from which frequent fatal results liave followed. See leading article, FarmaceuticalJournal, Ist August, 1869, which states that Dr. J.
