Wood jate was executed at 6 o'clock this morning, at Ficton. He made no confession, Dunedin, January 25. The recently appointed committee for the Dunedin Hospital visited that institu* tion yesterday. They found that none of the wards were provided with lavatories, baths, or closets. There was only one lavatory and one bath on the premises, the latter being situated near the kitchen. Beneath tbe flooring of one ward and considevable portion of buildings, mud and offensive matter to a depth of two or three feet had accumulated, The offensive
odour from the closets penetrated to a considerable distance. The committee have determined to take the necessary steps for at occe affecting requisite alterations. The test is for the purpose of determining whether or not (P).
