WEALTH OF NATIONS.
I There is nothing of striking importance |in connection with the underground operations to record this week. At the machine-hoQ3e one of the new berdans is completed and set in motion, and this, with the first, will constantly operate on the blanketings. There are two others in course of erection, and which it is in* tended to use in testing the actual value of the tailings, and in the event of a favor* able return being obtained, of which there appears to be but slight doubt, it is not at all improbable that the same motive power used for the whole of the present machinery will be further utilised for additional machinery, and which would, in probability, turn the above to a profitable account. The situation of the machine-house is well suited for carrying out the foregoing idea, and one well worthy the consideration of the share* holders.
