BAZAAR.

St. Hilda's, Upper Hutt.

The second bazaar in aid oi ike building fund of St. Hilda's Anglican Church, Upper Hutt, was opened shortly after J] o'clock yesterday by the Vicar, the Hev.'J. H. Sykes, in a few well-chosen words, in which he honed the efforts of a' willing body of workers would lrneet with the appreciation of the residents of the district and their, friends, and that another successful result would, at the conclusion of the bazaar 1 on Saturday-next,' be recorded; The stalls, six in number, and the wares on sale, are displayed to the best advantage by the vendors. Mesdamcs It. ■ Mabey and T. Edwards have charge of the stall devoted to plain sewn and linen goods. Mrß. Pearse and "Miss Felling have charge of the toy stall. The fancy goods stall is directed by Mrs. P. W. Kemp, who has Miss Greenwood as her assistant. Here is located the, handsomely-dressed doll, which is to be the' subject of much guess-work. Mrs; It. G. Mabey and Miss Nadu Geange have charge of the produce stall, and the Misses Keys and Whitematt'htfve'th'e stall devoted to confectionery, with Mrs. George Be'njje purveying icecream, temperance drinks, and other solaces of the warm or thirsty visitor. The; mildly-exciting bran-tubs are _ presided over by Misses Boris Pearse and Alice Boyd. Last, but by no means least in the eyes of masculinity, comes the tea-room, which is under p-pntrol of Mrs. P. H. Jane, assisted by Mrs. Dawe, Misses J. M'Curdy, ft. Clark, and W. Geange and Mrs. M'Kelvey, where those toothsome creature comforts are purveyed which serve to make the leisure moments of humanity less intolerable. Mrs. W. lb"Keys is president of the bpd. of.lady workers, and Mrs; P. H. Jane the secretary. In addition to Wednesday and Thursday,afternoons and evenings, the bazaar will be open at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening.
