MATCH SPOILED BY RAIN
WIN FOR KEREPEHI
MATCH WITH PATETONGA
Patetonga A tennis team visited Kerepehi on Saturday last and was successful in winning eight games. Kerepehi won four and one was unfinished on account of rain. The remaining two games were won by Patetonga by default owing to the late arrival of the Kerepehi player. All games played were very evenly contested, however, and a very enjoyable and tasty lunch and afternoon tea was provided by the home team. Results of play with Patetonga names mentioned first, were as follows:—
Ladies’ singles: Mrs S. Dibble defeated Miss J. Candy, 7— o; Miss E. Knight lost to Miss L. Poland, 3—7; Mrs I. Foote lost to Mrs S. .Sole, 3—7; i Mrs G. Hart defeated Miss B. Fisher, • 7—4.
Men’s singles: J. Pulman lost to A. McLean, 7—9; G. Reid defeated T. Samuels, 9—7; G. Hart defeated'?. Connor, 9—6; L. Garry defeated L. Clark, 9—6; R. Henry defeated 'W. Fowler, 9—4; Richardson won by default. •
Ladies* doubles: Mbs Dibble and Miss Knight defeated’ Misses' Candy and Poland, 7—4; Mrs Hart and Mrs Foote lost to Mrs Sole and Miss B. Fisher, I—7.
Men’s doubles: Pulman and Reid defeated McLean and Samuels, 9—4; Garry and Hart versus Clark and Conner abandoned at B—3.
