AIR TRAINING

60 HOURS FREE FLYING

AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH

The opportunity for youths from the ages of 16 to IS years, who were keen on aviation, to obtain up to €0 hours free flying instruction was stressed in a letter from Air Training Corps headquarters, Auckland, read at a meeting of the Hauraki Aero Club held recently at Thames. The training facilities available were for free instruction in ground training, in navigation, meteorology, aero engines and other relative subjects. It was proposed that lectures be given on one evening each week. Ways and means of raising money for the purchase of an Auster caibin aircraft were discussed. It was agreed that a .sum of approximately £650 would be required in addition to the proceeds from the sale of the Tiger Moth plane. ’
