WIN FOR NETHERTON

KEREPEHI’S NARROW LOSS

Kerepehi tennis team travelled to Netherton on Saturday last and was narrowly defeated after some very enjoyable close games by 10 matches to five.

Details of play with Netherton names mentioned first, were: —

Ladies’ singles: Mrs Richmond lost to Miss J. Candy, 4—7; Mrs Sarjant defeated Miss L. Poland, 7—3; Miss L. Richmond defeated Miss P. Jordan, 7—3; Miss R. Richmond lost to Miss V. Collins, 2—7. Ladies’ doubles: Mrs Richmond and Mrs Sarjant defeated Misses Candy and L. Poland, 7—4; Misses L. and R. Richmond defeated Misses P. Jordan and V. Collins, 7 —l.

Men’s singles: R. Liddington lost to A McLean, 7—9; J. McMillan defeated R. Burton, 9—2; I. Jamieson lost to T. Samuels, B—9;8 —9; B. Heath defeated L. Clark, 9—4; J. Bennett lost to R. Jordan, 2—s; J.’Gordon defeated I. Jordan, 9—2.
