PEDIGREE STOCK
KEREPEHIBREEDERS SUCCESS AT AUCKLAND SHOW Competing at the Auckland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s show at Epsom last week two Kerepehi breeders were successful in securing prizes with their exhibits. Mr E. Quinn, of Pekapeka road had much success with his entry of pedigree Berkshire pigs. His entry was awarded the championship for the Berkshire sow, a first award being secured for a sow and a further win for a boar under six months. Another entry secured a second prize for a sow" 6 months and under 12 months, and Mr Quinn gained a further second prize for his Berkshire boar under six months. In addition the Kerepehi breeder gained a third prize for a Berkshire boar 18 months and over; a third prize for a boar six months and under 12 and a third prize for a sow under six months. In the Friesian cattle class Mr Brian Burton, of Kerepehi, with his heifer, Okains E.C. Chum was placed second in the class for three-year-old heifers in milk. The same entry was highly commended in the production class. In the class for senior yearling Friesian bulls Mr Burton’s entry, Kereland Fleta Audrey Echo was placed third.
