SPLENDID CALVES

SHOW AT KEREPEHI GOOD ORGANISATION VERY SUCCESSFUL DAY Beautiful weather, a large attendance, splendid calves and a gay flower show were the keynotes of the annual show of the Kerepehi school held on Friday, November 17. As usual the calves were in splendid condition but this year the judges, Messrs B. E. Veale and W. Noble, were given a particularly difficult task as the 57 calves were such an even line of tip top quality. The organisation was good and the show commenced punctually at 10.30 a.m.; the last event the twenty-fifth, was judged at 3 p.m. Credit must be given to the judges and their associates, Messrs C. Townshend and W. Burdus, the stewards, Messrs Scott, Bailey and Davies- Colley. The school officials, Fred Stone, Harold Kelly, Glen Innis, I. Cornish, L. Patterson, Geo. Williams, W. Tuki, X Wentworth and Ned Te Whata carried out their duties well and contributed to the success of the day. A dower show was held in conjunction with the calf parade. A most decorative display was shown in the infant room. The judge otf these classes was Mrs Redwood and the stewards, 1 Mrs H. G. McGowan and Miss V. ’Shilton.
