BRIGADIER GENERAL C. F. SAMS A U.S. Army officer experienced in medical and welfare work, has been named by the United Nations Unified Command in Korea to administer a relief programme for more than 1,000,000 Korean refugees. General Sams will make recommendations for health procedures and general welfare activities among civilians of the Republic of Korea who have been made homeless by Communist aggression. President Harry S. Truman recently signed into law a measure passed by the U.S. Congress, providing $ 90,000,000 for refugee relief work in the Republic of Korea through the U.S. Economic Co-operation Administration. Several United Nations agencies, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation and the Economic and Social Council, have also agreed to assist in the refugee relief programme..
