The president, Mr D. G. McMillan, presided over a large attendance of delegates to Hauraki Calf Clubs’ Group Committee this week at Paeroa when arrangements were made for the local and championship shows. It was decided to hold the calf shows as follows: — '

Tuesday, November 14, Netherton, 10 a.m.; Messrs W. Edwards and F. Sexton judges, with Mr F. Westlake, associate. Puriri, 1.30; Mr C. Schultz judge, with Mr G. Bax, associate. Panel of Judges The following were nominated to act as judges for the provincial council:—Messrs B. E. Veale, C. Townshend, D. G. McMillan, A. C. Bailey and H. G. McGowan. Field Day It was decided to hold a field day for all judges and associates at Netherton on Thursday, November 9, at 1 p.m. Delegates were unanimous in expressing the hope that the results of such a gathering of judges would be. great—uniformity of judging, appreciation of child effort and a knowledge of the differences between calf shows and A. and P. Association shows.

Championship Show at Paeroa Arrangements were made for the championship show at Paeroa on Friday, December 1. A working bee was arranged for the previous day. The Hauraki A. and P. Association offered full support and assistance as for previous years. Many of the side shows would be open and a most successful day was anticipated by all. Stewards for the day were appointed: Ring, Messrs McKenzie, Rutherford, Meyer, Bennett. Call, Messrs Morgan and Davies-Colley. Results, Mr H. G. McGowan. Judges, Messrs F. H. Carter, Patumahoe, and J. G. Roberts, Papakura. Associates to be appointed by Y.F.C.

Work Appreciated A letter of thanks was sent to Mr 1 A. C. Bailey for valuable work and untiring interest to the calf club movement.

Question of Nuimbiering General discussion on numbering took place and it was the general opinion that the numbering of children was preferable to the numbering of the calves. The matter was left to clubs for attention. Cood (Credit Balance

Now, Caif Club Members ! There is only a Short time before your annual show. We know the great amount of work put into these shows. You will have many busy days grooming, feeding and leading your-ipets. There will be the excitement of your own show when the winners will be found. These will go to the championship show at Paeroa. Many people will help—teachers, pupils, school committee members, judges, stewards, carriers and parents. This help is given willingly if people know it is given in la worthy cause flotr your good. Is your exhibit well prepared? Have you fed, groomed and eared for your pet? Aire you proud of yajiMd calf? Does it like you? It is to
