BLACK JACK HILL

UNSAFE FOR CARTING

REQUEST TO THE COUNCIL

A request that the culvert at the foot of Black Jack hill and the causeway at Otama be given very urgent attention was made by Cr S. H. Le Roy-Dyson at the October meeting of the Coromandel County Council.

Cr Dyson pointed out that shearing was now in progress and the carters had refused to cart over it in its present condition. As wool would have to be carted out within about a fortnight he asked for urgency be given to the work. The council agreed to have the work done. A resolution was also carried that the foreman have the work on the Access road to Pey’s bay attended to and that when the £2W promised by Mr Graham towards that access was received, then arrangements be made to get the work carried out immediately.
