spell. If the council could have a moderate control it would be better than rigid ar over control. Or Dyson said he abided by the law and his property could not be burned off. His land was not yet in production, whereas others who defied the law and burnt their ground had that land now under production. It was not fair that two small farmers, who were burning off, were prosecuted, while some big farmers did the same thing and were not prosecuted. •“The time has come, when this mak•ing fifth <rf one and flesh of another must stop,” he said. A resolution was by Cr H. F. Purdom, seconded by Cr A. J. Denize that the council write to the Fire Services Board asking that the ifire officer Be authorised to give permission to burn in certain cases. The motion was duly carried.
