WARNING SIGN TO BE ERECTED
Describing it as a “death trap,” Cr T. O’Carrol, at the October meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council, stressed the need for a traffic warning to be erected at the Kopuarahi school corner. He referred to the recent accident which occurred on the corner in questi on and as a result of which three mien were sent to hospital, one seriously injured. A warning sign should be erected, said Cr. O’Carroll, drawing the attention of motorists to the* datlgerous comer. lit was not 'possible to negotiate the corner when travelling at a speed of 35 m.pjh. Traffic coming from Pipiroa ferry Wats the most dangerous, councillors all agreed with the remarks of Cr O’Carroll and the engineer, Mr E/HawWim-Batber, was instructed to have the necessary warning signs erected.
and will give residents from these areas convenient waiting time in Thames for transacting business before continuing their journeys. Buses Ltd. had hoped to inaugurate the service with new luxury coaches at present under construction, but due to delayed delivery from England of necessary fittings it has now beep decided to operate immediately with the existing vehicles. This will be for several weeks only and is being done in order to improve the service before the Labour Day week-end holidays.
The new vehicles should come into service during Novettmber, and it is interesting to note that one of the coaches will be the
largest at present operating in New Zealand. Coaehwwk will conform to modern trend's in styling, whilst seating will ibe of 'the latest English foamed 'latex. — P.B.A.
