PAEROA HOSPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS IN HAND PROVIDING STORAGE SPACE 1 Various improvements are to be carried out at the Paeroa maternity hospital in accordance with the suggestions made by the Department of Health. In a letter to the department, written by the Thames Hospital Board’s secretary, Mr A. L. Neighbour, and placed before the September meeting of the board it stated that it was pro - posed to install four or possibly five flrash hand basins, one in every four patient, rooms and in in the sluice room. New lino was to be paid down in the service rooms. The architect had- been instructed to investigate how storage space could be provided as it presented a problem. It was thought possible to extend the building in a south easterly direction similar to the extension made about 1940 in a north westerly direction. If that were done the symmetry of the building could be preserved and at the same time storage could be provided on the end of the building when the sun was not required.
