“I aim directed to advise you ithait the board is sympathetic to iy»ur problem and is willing to cooperate in combating the goat and fire menace on your east water supply catchment at tPiuriri,” staed a letter from 'the Hauraki Catchment Board to the September meeting of the Haiuraiki Plains County Council. “To much a satisfactory solution the Department of Internal Affairs wUI hiave ito be interested and to this end the department has been invited itosend representatives ito meet representatives of your council and the board on (the site at a convenient date ito > the department,” added the letter. The chairman, Or C. W. Parfitt, Said it appeared as if some progress might be made. The east water supply committee was authorised, to attend the conference.
