GIRL GUIDES
SUCCESSFUL FAIR HELD WHITIANGA RAISES £22 A most successful fair was held by the Whitianga Girl Guides Association recently, in the Whitianga hall. With side shows, trading table, dips etc. to attract those present, the sum of over £22 was raised for Brownie funds.
Competitions won during the afternoun were:— Cups and saucers, Mrs N. A. Wells; fruit cake, Mrs Lee; pearls, Judith Jackman; bed jacket, Mrs Oxley; chocolate cake, Mrs Rob Sewell; darts Pine Tawhara. Members of the committee served afternoon tea. A short ceremony followed, when Miss Robinson, dostrict commissioner, enrolled' Mirs Rob Simpson and Mrs W. H. Lowe as members of the Girl Guide association.
