GIFT EVENING

MISS D. POTTS HONOURED

MUCH FUN AT COROMANDEL

Another very enjoyable evening took place in the Oddfellows’ hall, Coromandel, on Thursday, July 27, when a gift evening was tendered to Miss Daphne Potts and Mr Lee Perfect whose marriage will take place early in August. It was a very happy gathering when young and old entered into the fun of the occasion with dancing and games alternating. Just before supper the guests of honour unwrapped the many varied and useful gifts and read out the accompanying messages of good luck.

Mr Perfect on behalf of Daphne and himself thanked those responsible for the happy evening and everyone for their gifts and good wishes. A most enjoyable supper was partaken of to the accompaniment of plenty of bandinage. A bean competition caused a lot of fun and it was won by Miss Zilla Anderson and Mr Eric Glogoski. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs Lucas, who also accompanied Mr Daye Hardy when he entertained with, a bracket of songs.
