COROMANDEL MOUNTAINS

The mountain range extending from the Kartangahake -gorge northwards to the top of the Coroimlandel peninsula at Cape Colville will in the future be known as the Moehau range and not the Colvilfe or Coromandel range as it is usually referred to. , The change of name has been decided upon by the New. Zeailand Geographic Board and notice of its intention to assign to the range its new name of Moehau is published in a recent issue of the New Zealand -Gazette.

Any plenwon. objecting to the proposed new nam e ma y at anytime within a period of three months from July 17, 1950, give to the secretary of the board, care of the Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, notice in writing of his objection, setting out the grounds of the objection. If no objection is received by the 'board within the aforesaid period of three months the board’s decision as to the proposed name will ibe final.
