. WELL-KNOWN HORSES .WANDERING ON ROADS
[COROMANDEL COUNCIL MEETS “In Coromandel there are three well-known old horses which live on the poads and are expected to die at any time. In fact they went into the hospital grounds recently but have since been discharged,” said Ct A. J. Denize at the July meeting of the Coromandel County Council, when the problem of wandering stock was being discussed by councillors. It was reported to the council that horses and cattle were frequently wandering on county roads, particularly at Ahimia. v ,Cr T. V. Whittle said the council had made a by-law regarding stock and horses on roads arid it was now a matter of bringing the facts to the
riotice of the police for action without further’ notice. ' ,
Cr H. T. Robinson said that horses were continually on the road at .Whitianga. A' resolution was carried that the chairman of the Ahimia Tribal Committee be .requested to call attention to the law rind explain the council’s by-law in regard to wandering stock.
