CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS GOOD ROUND BY THORP CUP GAMES ON SATURDAY The last qualifying round in the club championships was played by members of the Paeroa Golf Club last Saturday under difficult conditions. Members who qualified in the three grades are:— Seniors: M. R. Thompson, H. Morgan, A. W. Shepherd, K. Morrison, B. Hunt, L. J. Shaw, L.. W. Frank and R. Sumner. Intermediates: R. McKenzie, H. Walker, 0. W. Knight, G. Birkenhead, L. Turnbull, G. S. Masters, R. Jennings and E. R. Ward. , Juniors: V. T. Nicholls,. W. Dean, P. Ewen, W. J. Barrett, R. P. Ganley, G. McNeil, M* Young and C. Murdock. A medal round was played In conjunction with the qualifying round the best cards in the three grades being:—

Senior, Hunt, 80-14-66; B. Aitken, 81-14-67. Intermediate, L. Turnbull, 87-19-i6B; R. McKenzie, 88-16-72. Junior, C. Murdock, 95-28-67; H. Pearse, 99-30-69.

It is very pleasing to be able to report that the best round of the. week-end was registered by one of the stalwarts of the club, H. R. Thorp, who did a fine 74 gross, which allowed him a comfortable win with 40 points in a medal stableford. match played on Sunday. ( The fourth round of the Waitemata cup will be played next Saturday, members choosing their own fours.
