WITH THE HOUNDS

FINE WEATHER HOLDS LONG RUNS ENJOYED MEET HELD IN PAEROA WARD Weather conditions were fine and bright for the second meet held by the Maramarua hounds in the Paeroa ward at Matatoki on Wednesday list. The properties hunted over are owned by Mrs T. Cooper and Messrs E. Price, A. E. V. Denize, L. Arundell, W. Pennell, H. Harden and E. J. McLoughlin. Breakfast and afternoon tea watf served at the Matatoki hall by Mesdames C. Grey, D. Clark, J. Clark, E. Clark, E. Cox, T. Carney and Messrs T. Carney and L. Berry. Mr V. Young, deputy master apologised for the absence of Mr A. C. Feist, master of the hounds, who was absent owing to illness. He thanked the ladies of the district for their great hospitality and tendered sincere thanks to the landowners. Mr W. Pennell replied on behalf of the landowners saying the hunt was welcome and they all hoped to see them back again later in the season. Cheers for the ladies and property owners were called for by Mr Young and received a hearty response. There was an excellent following from many of the wards. The hounds worked well though no hares were put up, but as the run was long the followers were treated to a feast of jumps and all returned well satisfied with their day’s outing. Henry on Bellman, Miss M. Bremner on Kim. ANOTHER GOOD OUTING THE HOUNDS AT MARAMARUA The Maramarua hounds had another good outing recently in the Maramarua ward over the properties of Messrs H. C. Adams, H. Chamberlain, Hensen and F. Skudder. The weather was fine and the scent good. The best run of the day was when a hare was put up on Mr Adam’s property and ran through Messrs Hensen’s and Skudder’s, where it was lost. Breakfast and afternoon tea were enjoyed at Mr and Mrs Adams and Mr Feist thanked them for their hospitality and the landowners for the use of their properties. The followers were:—
