ANNUAL MEETING HELD COROMANDEL’S NEW OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Coromandel Croquet Club was held in the hall supper room on April 8, when there was a good attendance of members.

The president read her report which showed that a successful year had come to a close. Although the membership was small it was keen and various efforts through the year in aid of funds for maintenance, etc., had been well supported by the public.

The 500 card evenings had, on the whole, been well attended and as a result the club was able to actively carry on. The balance sheet was read and explained by the secretary in detail and it showed a small credit balance at the end of March.

A discussion took place as to the best means of keeping the club financial and it was decided to try and encourage more members to join and also to continue holding the fortnightly card evenings. The election of officers resulted as follows:—

President, Mrs I. Scott; vice-presi-dent, Mrs F. McKinley; secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. M. Lucas (reelected); social secretary, Mrs Venables.

It was decided that all members would be on the committee and the president and secretary were empowered to act as the executive and to call general committee meetings when necessary.

A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring president, Mrs Peachey, and the social secretary, Mrs Beech, for their work during the past year.
