PAEROA BOWLING
FOURS COMPETITION SIX CLUBS COMPETE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS ■ Champion rinks from Thames, Hikutaia, Waihi, Te Aroha, Morrinsville and Paeroa met on the Paeroa bowling green on Saturday last in a series of elimination matches in the champion ef champions fours competition.
The weather was ideal for bowling and the greens were playing particutariy well considering the drought conditions experienced over the last three months. The results of the various matches were:—
First round: J. Maber, A. Colson, T. Culland, F. Coley (Morrinsville) 30 defeated H. Smith, W. Morrison, J. Baird, G. Alloy (Hikutuia) 11; J. Turnbull, T. J. Boyle, P. A. Plummer, T. L. Williams (Paeroa). 22 defeated M. Looms, A. J* Colwill (Thames), 13. Second round: Paeroa 22 defeated Morrinsville 20; A. Callaghan, G. Powell, G. Callaghan, H. Powell (Te Aroha), 24 defeated C. Dare, W. V. Hill, R. Blackwood, C. Dunstan (Waihi), 18. Third round: Te Aroha 27 defeated Paeroa 12.
Te Aroha now goes forward to contest the Anais at Claudelands on Saturday next. Marching Display Postponed
Due to tre inclement weather in Paeroa on Sunday last the music and marching display which wos to have been held on the Paeroa domain was postponed.
