FREEMAN’S BAY BEATEN
MATCH AT COROMANDEL In a game of changing fortunes, Coromandel defeated Freeman’s Bay Cricket Club’s team by six wickets on the Coromandel domain last Saturday.
Requiring 54 to win, Coromandel had lost four wickets for 16 runs when Bull and McKeddie were associated in an unbeaten partnership of 40 runs, to give the home team the game. Details of play were:— Freeman’s Bay: First innings, total, 25; C. Vassey, 9; J. Kennedy, 9, Bowling. McKeddie, four wickets for 0, including hat-trick; Gundlock, five for 13, including hat-trick. Second innings, total, 102; Grant, 27; Tracey, 13; J Kennedy, 12. Bowling, Davies, three for 20; Gundlock, two for 9; Turner, two for 6.
Coromandel: First inningp, total, 73; Turner, 13; M. Kennedy, 9; Quigg, 9. Bowling, Tracey, five for 13; Steves, two for 2; Grant, two for 28. Second Innings, four wickets for 56; McKeddie, not out, 30; Bull, not out, 17. Bowling, Steves, two for 10; Tracey, two for 25.
