TABLE TENNIS
COROMANDEL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES The Coromandel Table Tennis Club conducted its championship singles matches for the 1949 season and the results of the contests were as follows :— Ladies’ singles (final): Mrs M. Dear defeated Miss T. Browns in two straight games. Men’s singles (final): N. Mclntosh defeated H. Dear by two games to one.
Most members entered for the competitions and before the finalists emerged many hard fought games had been played. Later in the season it was hoped to arrange for the playing of men’s, ladies’ and combined doubles championship matches.
