TEMPORARY LICENSE
HOTEL AT COROMANDEL IMPROVEMENTS NECESSARY In view of reports received on the condition o f the Star and Garter Hotel, Coromandel, the Hauraki Licensing Committee at its annua] meeting decided to adjourn the application of Mr M. M. Hart for the issue of a publican’s license and to grant a temporary license for three months to enable vaiious work to be done.

Further reports from the police and health inspector contains 1 a number of suggestions. A complete overhaul of the kitchen was recommended, the floor in the Lar was unsafe, and the roof leaked in at least two places. Mr A. E. L. Dodd, for the ap plicant, said it had been undertaken, on behalf of the owners, for the whole of the understructure to be examined. It had been undertaken to have the fire escape fixed. In the last 12 months, Mr Dodd added, about £250 had been spent on maintenance work at the hotel. L
