PAEROA VITAL STATISTICS FIGURES FOR MAY The number of bi'rths recorded in Paeroa for May, 1949, was 19, being two less than in the corresponding month of 1948. This brings the total number to date since the beginning of the year to 94, one less than in the same period of 1948.
This information appeared in the vital statistics as supplied by Mr C. W. Williams, registrar of births, deaths and marriages, at Paeroa. One death was recorded for the month under review as against none for the same month of 1948. Since the beginning of the year 10 deaths have been recorded as against 7 for the same period of last year. Six marriage licenses were issued during the month of May, 1949, as compared with one for the same month of 1948.
Since the beginning of the year up to the end of May, 15 marriage licenses were issued as against 16 for the first five months of last year. One marriage was performed by the registrar during May, 1949, and that figure corresponds with the figure for May, 1948. Since the beginning of this year up until the end of May three marriages were performed by the registrar as against four for the same period of 1948.
