PAEROA RUGBY
I NION MEETING HELD SATURDAY’S FIXTURES CHALLENGES ISSUED At a meeting of the management committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union held last Monday the following fixtures were made for Saturday next:— Seniors: United v. Netherton, No. 1 ground, 2.15 p.m.; West v. Hikutaia, No. 2 ground, 2.15 p.m. Juniors: West v. Netherton, No. 1 giound, 1 p.m. An application from the United junior team for permission to play a match at Thames on Saturday next was granted. The committee decided to invite Thames to play at Paeroa on July 30, the challenge to cover senior, junior and third grade representative matches. It was further decided to issue a challenge to Thames for the Birch cup and also to issue challenges for the Johnson and the McLean cups.
THIRD GRADE REPS.
TEAM TO PLAY TE AROHA
The following third grade team has been selected to represent Paeroa in a match against Te Aroha on Saturday next: S. Manga, C. Foster, J. Schuler, T. Mita, D. Poulter, I. Gillespie, P. Harrison, R. Masters, D. Geary, Pakinga, K. Parker, J. Doran, D. Hill, B. Handley and T. Nield. Emergencies: D. Johansen, R. Lipsham, M. Saunders and W. Vince. Mr W. Fleming has been appointed manager of the team which will leave the domain gates, Paeroa, by bus for Te Aroha at 12 noon. PAEROA PLAYERS HURT FOUR IN WAIHI MATCH The Paeroa representative Rug'by team suffered some casualties last Saturday in the match for the Poland Cup played at Waihi. F. Martinovich of Paeroa had three ribs broken. M. Waring of Paeroa had a thumb dislocated.
A. McMillan of Paeroa pulled a muscle in his leg and received an indentation on his face near the eye. N. McMillan received an injury to his lip, necessitating a stitch in same.
